Grateful to find support

For people under 65 who need palliative care and end-of-life care, there is very little funding
available and accessing government assistance can be very difficult.

Many people in need of help fall through the cracks, unable to secure the essential support
they need during an already challenging time.

When Matthew was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he didn’t know where to turn. Thanks to
a referral from his social worker, he was relieved to discover that Mingary Care could help
quickly and without unnecessary hurdles.

“I didn’t know this support was available, but I am so grateful for Mingary Care,” said Matthew.
“Home Care Packages are usually provided through My Aged Care, but I don’t fit their age
criteria. I’m also not eligible for NDIS.

“I was feeling quite stuck. Mingary Care responded immediately and they provided exactly
what I needed. I needed furniture and they supplied a new bed, a couch and a small fridge.
“Mingary Care even arranged for a deep clean of my house, including pest control. Their
support has really made a difference,” he said.

Mingary Care offers a wide range of support options and will consider all requests for end-of-
life care support. Their model operates on a rapid response basis, allowing those in crisis to
access short-term care without having to jump through hoops, filling a vital gap for the
Sunshine Coast community.

We are supported by local palliative care teams and community organisations. If you or
someone you know needs help, please get in touch.
