On Saturday 15 September 2018, we held our black and white fashion parade as a fundraiser for our hospice building fund. Our Managing Director, Sue Mason-Baker provided an update on the charity which included clarification of Sunshine Hospice as the original hospice charity established in 2008 and which provided end-of-life care at the Doonan Hospice between May 2010 and December 2015.

With Charlie organising the fashions and models, Bev as MC and occasional singer, Sally coordinating the grand entrance of each model and Bill providing the music, we had a very successful and enjoyable day. Many raffles were won, amazing afternoon tea served and there was a frenzy of shopping afterwards. All the black and white fashions came from our Op Shops (Tewantin, Cooroy, Bli Bli, Montville and Maroochydore) and were modelled by some very confident volunteers – Raewyn, Maggie, Yvonne, Lorraine and Kay – and they were joined by friends Lorna, Karen and Leslie. All the ladies looked stunning, especially our brides and bridemaid who looked every bit the part.

Huge thanks to Glenn at Gregson & Weight for providing your beautiful facilities at Wises Road Buderim and your staff member Debbie who helped and guided our own fabulous volunteers (Shaz, Pat and Liz) to serve afternoon tea. All food was contributed by volunteers and we had an amazing choice of goodies. Thank you to everyone who provided the food. Many thanks to our volunteers Val, Di, Viv and Annette who kindly manned the ticket and raffle tables. To all the helpers, too numerous to mention individually, we thank you.
