About us.

Mingary Care is a not-for-profit charity established in 2008 to provide palliative care for people dying on the Sunshine Coast and compassionate support for their carers, partners, families and friends. We work on a referral basis and engage local community care providers to deliver in-home care on our behalf.

Mingary Care (pronounced min-gar-ee) means ‘a quiet place’ in Gaelic.

We believe that quiet reflection becomes more important as an individual nears the end of their life. Most times, we know that death is waiting for us – sometimes we have a long time to contemplate, and at other times, death can happen all too quickly.

This is a time to seek inner solace as we make sense of our life, to put our affairs in order, perhaps to make peace with others and to use the time that is left to make ‘moments that matter’.

Community Awareness
